Mesh Events
We run regular events to help the community practice, connect, and grow. All events are open to anyone interested in mesh networking!
Weekly Friday Net
We are still exploring the best way to run a Net over Meshtastic, but initial tests have been good. These instructions may change at any time — read carefully and please participate! Updated 2/15/26
What is a Net?
A Net is a formalized way to test equipment, grow skills, and build connections — adapted from Amateur Radio practices for Meshtastic application.
Schedule
- Day: Every Friday
- Check-in window: 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM EST
- Participants record observations via Google Form
- Results are compiled into a shareable sheet and posted to Discord
How to Check In
During the check-in window, send a single message on the mesh in the following format:
[Short Node Name] CSRANet [City] [Router] [# Nodes]Data collected per check-in:
- Node originator identification (short name)
- General location (city reference)
- Router with best connection, or “None”
- Count of active nodes visible in the last hour
Examples:
Mi57 CSRANet Thomson None 3
Mi57 CSRANet Evans CSR1 34Submit Your Check-In Report
After checking in on the mesh, fill out the Net Check-In Report Form to help us track mesh health and coverage.
Form fields:
- Your Node Short Name
- Reporting your own or others’ check-in
- Date/Time message received
- Complete check-in message text
The net also encourages direct mesh communication between participants — so get on the mesh and say hello!
